30-3-2011 Esther's ATM

1. Twitter has forced me into the habit of microblogging. I can never blog again, that is considering the fact that i used to blog. scratch that out. Im a microblogger. I was a notebook writer before. I sat and looked at my right hands index finger very carefully and realise that i have this HOLE in my skin. a DENT. Infact it almost looks like a crater. Thanks a lot education, because of u my perfect fingerprint will now be ruined forever.

2. My Nikon D80's current use is to click high resolution quality pictures of my forensic notes -.- I dont think im gonna talk further on the subject. Pray that nothing happens to my laptop until the exams are over.

3. My exams are starting in 11 days and i've just spent the last 1 hour painting my left hand nails with the tricolors and my toes with the color of the cricket team uniform - blue. I've also remembered that when im going to examine the patients they will see this. It could end up 2 ways. Either they become patriotic and think about the match and forget about their illness OR thinking about the match, they might wish they were at home watching it instead of being here. This could make them even more depressed leading to the worsening of their condition. Oh well :P GO INDIAAAAAAAAAAAAA

ermmm yeaa i have weird fingers

Until the next 3ATM, Bon nuit :D

Feathers

Bonjour Beautiful people :D

Its been almost a month since I actually wrote something sensible (*cough) here... So Im gonna spare you all the made up excuses about being too busy to even breathe (which is partially true btw)

Not that I forgot about the blog, infact everytime we did something cool and interesting, all I wanted to do was turn on my laptop and write down a retarded 3 page article (*thankfully I didn't :P)

Anyway, meet Tiki, Tiko, Peri and Peru!!!   :D

LUNCH TIME :D

Tiki and Tiko are 2 hillarious guinea fowl my grandmother bought from a research farm in Chandor.

About 2 years ago, there was a HUGE snake problem in the area we live- cobras, grass snakes and all sorts of weird village snakes started appearing out of nowhere ( or maybe they were always there but just never had the courage to get out in the open). It freaked out a lot of people- grandma being one of them.
Everyone suggested buying a mongoose (which would be a retarded option- I mean, who in the world has a mongoose as a pet?) or a guinea fowl. Thankfully she resorted to buying a cute pair of the most beautiful looking birds ever.

Tiki - the male guinea fowl

Milkybar and Bluebell
Milkybar was a pearly white and Bluebell was a lovely shade of royal blue. They were AWESOME! Infact, Bluebell was such a cartoon, he used to kill snakes and place them on our neighbors doorstep (which used to freak them out really badly :P)

Unfortunately wolves ate them  :(

Anyway, back to the point- Tiki and Toko are the Guinea fowl ( the ones which are smaller and more white) AND Peri and Peru are the Turkeys ( a little bigger and more brown)    :P

The turkeys :D :D my retarded babies :D

(NOTE - these pics are over 3 weeks old, thats when we first bought the little critters. They are
much bigger now and even have a professional home :P)

Peri/ Peru (hard to tell when they were babies -.-)

The turkeys were better models I felt - Score 9/10 right? :P

I clicked a bunch of pics of them today (which I'll be posting maybe sometime this week)

and if you'll have any views on the photographs ( constructive criticism I may add), I'd LOVE to hear about it!   :D

Until next time,
:*

Silver for the Pig

It all started with a promise of a Piggie bank... and then disaster! Broken, shattered, it was now no more than tiny fragments of a friend's love...

I never really had a chance to see it...

Then, out of nowhere, a suggestion and an idea appeared out of nowhere!

A mud pot! That's what I started out with.

This is what I started out with!

A little love and care added, quick drying clay here and there, a little paint to touch up and there it stood!

My very own home made Piggie!  :)  :)

The end product  :)

Mr. Piggie became pretty popular and pretty soon, I was on my way to thanking the friend who inspired me by making him a Piggie bank! This one had its own little laptop ( Sadly, I don't have a picture of it  :(  )

I'm starting on another one! Esther said she'd like a 'Jailbird Piggie'  x D
It sounded like a pretty cute idea so I decided to do it!! I will post the result when its done  :)

Thought I'd post some pictures of Mr. Piggie  :)   Esther clicked them  : D

Mr. Piggie often dreams of the great outdoors!

Ellen enjoys 'feeding' Mr. Piggie

After a hard day's work, Mr. Piggie loves to cuddle up and sleep  ^.^

Cos Laughter is a Good Thing!

A friend of mine had recently posted it on his Facebook wall, and today, I find myself eagerly waiting for a new one every week!
What am I talking about? COMICSSSSSSSSS!!!!

I have vivid and delicious memories of slipping Archie comics behind School text books and reading them when lectures got... well, a little boring  : P  So Im a bit of a comic addict  (Geeky? GUILTY!!!)
I soon outgrew them and moved on to actually living life but once in a while, I do come across comic strips and my childhood creeps right back  : D

So I decided to share these webcomics in particular! They're from this site www.pajamaforest.com and are ADORABLE!!!  :)

They are created by Evan Diaz. He comes out with a new one twice a week so YAY!!!! I decided to post a few of my favorites on our blog as well  : )

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did  : D
P.S. I may have had to slice the comics into little bits cos they didn't really fit into the space on our blog  :(  Really sorry about that!  :(

I happen to be a HUGE WoW fan so I decided to post this one  : D

WoW WIFE 1

Catch of the week

Ok, we're starting this new thing where we're gonna tell you guys about some of the awesome stuff we come across  :P

I really don't wanna brag but I'm an extreme shopaholic and don't really leave a place empty handed  :D
Esther says its a disgusting habit cos I end up buying stupid things like paper clips and multi- colored pens just for the heck if it when she believes the money should be saved for something more worth it or useful  O_o

Anyway, I'm dedicating a post every week to some of my awesomely useless finds  :D
Hope u guys enjoy it  :)

This week, I'd like to put up something I didn't buy!  :P
A dear friend got this for me and personally I found it adorable  ^.^

Its basically made of thread with two little glass fish!!  :D  Its from Fabindia and costs somewhere around Rs. 235.

Well, Esther and I took this opportunity to shoot some crazy photographs! Here are some of the 'sensible' one  :D  :P

Okkk... I cant really seem to get this picture right side up so WHATEVER!!!! Esther is gonna HATE me for this!!!  ^.^   She basically had to squeeze into that tiny little space to capture some of the pictures  ^.^

And that's about it  :D
See you next week for another amazing find!
Toodles!!!

Dont write off the Local Transport yet

Esther here  ^_^

Every time I tell my friends that I love travelling by local buses, they roll their eyes and think I've lost it! They tell me that if I traveled by buses everyday, I would get the real picture and start hating every second of bus journeys. I beg to differ.

I remember when I first asked my parents if I could travel by bus, I had to assure them A MILLION times that I was travelling with experts who would get me home safely and that in the 15 minute journey I wouldn't get myself killed.
I don’t blame my parents for worrying. We often read bone chilling stories of girls getting molested by 50 year old perverts, people reportedly getting on buses and never reaching home, etc.
Unfortunately for me, every time any of my elder family members board a bus, something weird and funny had to happen to heighten their beliefs.

Anyway, back to the point– would you be surprised if I told you that till date, in my 2 years of bus travel, nothing bad has ever happened to me? *touch wood*
Quite the opposite!

Take the example of yesterday, we were trying to get from St Inez to the Panjim bus stop..it was 2am and since we couldn't find a rickshaw anywhere, we decided to take the bus. When we finally got a bus (after Carlos and I ran like mad people through the traffic to stop it while my siblings calmly took their time in getting to the bus -.-) to our shock, we realised that Elaine hadn’t boarded the bus. So imagine, after initially hearing fellow passengers grumble for making them wait FOR 2 MINUTES, we stopped the bus again . I got off , only to find Elaine happily buying a REINDEER PEN from a stationary shop. We were so grateful that the conductor and driver had actually waited for us, even while a line of cars and buses honked furiously behind them.

Forget waiting for us, another time when I was travelling from the Goa’s commercial capital Margao to my house, I took a local bus. It was about 2:30pm on a Sunday and the bus was PACKED. Fearing that I wouldn't be able to reach the door at my stop and since I was already suffocated by the crowd, I decided to get off the bus a stop away from my house. The weather was beautiful and I love walking so I didn’t mind the 15 minute walk home... To my surprise, the bus went forward for about 3 secs and reversed all of a sudden. The conductor actually opened the door and told me to get in. Most of the people in the bus were commenting on how this wasn’t my stop and since I hardly travel, I must have gotten confused *Yea right*.
Pretty sweet right?

To conclude, I have found that *MOST of the time* if you dress and behave decently, people generally DO NOT interfere with you.    ( ^ , ^ )
